George Hirst has left Sheffield Wednesday for OH Leuven.

George Hirst has left Sheffield Wednesday, but the youngster has not moved to Everton, Manchester United or Leicester City.

The 19-year-old forward was on the radar of Everton, according to The Liverpool Echo, while The Mirror credited United with interest in the talented teenager, and according to LeicestershireLive, Hirst was a target for Leicester.

The England Under-20 international forward, though, has moved to Belgium – to Nigel Pearson’s OH Leuven, who play in the second tier of Belgian football – Belgian First Division B.

OH Leuven have announced on their official website that they have signed the forward on a free transfer, with the youngster leaving Championship club Wednesday after his contract ran out.

According to The Star, the Owls were prepared to break their wage structure in order to retain his services, but the 19-year-old refused to sign a new contract.
