Celtic are in the market for some new signings in the final stages of the January transfer window, and an interesting name has been linked this week.
The Athletic claim that Celtic are interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday talent Liam Shaw, as well as Preston duo Ben Davies and Ben Pearson.
Shaw, 19, has emerged into the Wednesday first team this season, and has earned huge praise for his performances.
The teenager – a boyhood Wednesday fan and product of their youth system – can play at centre back or in central midfield, and Celtic appear to be keen.
Shaw has recorded one goal and one assist in 12 first-team games this season, and Wednesday fans seem to absolutely love him.
The problem is that Shaw is out of contract at the end of the season, and could sign a pre-contract agreement to join Celtic for minimal compensation.

Some Wednesday supporters have been taking to Twitter to claim that the situation is ‘disgraceful’, and that the Owls should have had a new deal done with Shaw a long time ago.
Others now think that Shaw will end up leaving for Celtic given the money on offer there, but some urged him again the move, feeling that he won’t receive as much playing time as he deserves there.
