The Swans got some very positive results under Carvalhal, but eventually the Welsh outfit failed to retain their Premier League status for the 2018-19 campaign and will play in the Championship next season, just as Wednesday will.

Carvalhal was in charge of Wednesday from the summer of 2015 until December 2017 and guided the Owls to the Championship playoffs two seasons in a row.
