Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Barry Bannan to Aston Villa speculation

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan is reportedly on the radar of Aston Villa.

Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking Barry Bannan with a move to Aston Villa.

According to The Mirror, Villa are interested in signing Bannan from Wednesday in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that new Villa manager Dean Smith is looking to sign the 28-year-old midfielder in a £8 million deal.

Bannan is one of the best midfielders in the Championship and is a key figure in the current Wednesday team.

The Scotland international has scored two goals and provided one assist in 14 Championship appearances for Wednesday so far this season, according to WhoScored.

Wednesday are not in great form at the moment, but the Owls still have a chance of challenging for playoffs.

The departure of Bannan, though, is going to be a huge blow in Wednesday’s quest to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

Wednesday fans have been discussing the future of Bannan amid speculation of a move to Villa on Twitter.
