A photo purportedly showing the Middlesbrough striker at Hillsborough on Saturday has appeared on Twitter.
On his way, on his way?
Are Sheffield Wednesday finally about to sign Jordan Rhodes? The Middlesbrough striker, who has been linked with the Owls, both officially and unofficially, for some time, was allegedly sighted at Hillsborough on Saturday, as Wednesday suffered a 2-1 defeat against Ipswich Town.
Not in Boro’s squad for their simultaneous fixture at Manchester City, perhaps Rhodes innocently fancied a jaunt over the Woodhead Pass to visit his old man, who coaches the Owls’ goalkeepers. Or is that a little naive in this day and age?

Wednesday are desperately short of goals this season, although based on Saturday’s showing Rhodes is unlikely to be camped outside the club’s offices on the coming transfer window’s eve. After all, the Scotland international made his name finishing chances, rather than creating them for himself. Besides, the Owls have Gary Hooper for that, do they not?

Of course, there is no evidence that the photo was even taken on Saturday, however, this has not stopped Wednesday fans discussing the speculation on Twitter.
