Sheffield Wednesday fans’ doubts are growing over goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith.
Wildsmith stepped in for the injured Keiren Westwood in mid-December and has played 21 straight Championship matches.
And though the Owls academy product impressed in many of those, his flaws were exposed against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.
Wildsmith was arguably at fault for Rangers’ first two goals, which arrived inside the first 10 minutes at Loftus Road – punching a cross and spilling a shot into the path of goalscorers Paul Smyth and Jake Bidwell, respectively.
And for some Wednesday supporters, the 22-year-old’s latest showing has only emphasised how much Westwood is missed, while others want to see Cameron Dawson involved in the final weeks of the campaign.
