Derby County-owned Jacob Butterfield played for Sheffield Wednesday against Aston Villa in the Championship today.
Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Jacob Butterfield against Aston Villa.
Butterfield featured for Wednesday in the Championship game against Villa away from home at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who joined the Owls on loan from Championship rivals Derby County in the summer transfer window, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Wednesday played well against the Villans and picked up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 victory.
Wednesday fans were impressed with the performance of the former Barnsley and Middlesbrough midfielder and have praised him on Twitter.
Butterfield’s performances for Wednesday in recent matches have been very good, and Derby should take note.
It seems that the Rams’ decision to loan out the midfielder to Wednesday – and sign striker Sam Winnall from the Owls on a similar deal – is working in favour of Carlos Carvalhal’s side at the moment.
