Sheffield Wednesday have signed Callum McManaman on loan from West Brom.

Sheffield Wednesday have begun their transfer activity already by making a move for West Bromwich Albion winger Callum McManaman.

The Owls confirmed on their official website that McManaman has signed on loan with the club until the end of the season, with the deal set to go through on January 1.

McManaman had been out of favour at the Baggies despite being Tony Pulis’ first signing at the club.

This season he had not featured at all, and a loan move is key for the 25-year-old.

McManaman has experience playing in the Championship with Wigan Athletic, and his acquisition could be a shrewd move by Wednesday.

The winger could have a major part to play in the club’s promotion push, with Carlos Carvalhal’s side currently sixth in the Championship.

Last season the Owls were beaten play-off finalists, and are desperate to go one better this season.

McManaman is likely the first of a number of January arrivals, and is a major statement of intent.
