Bannan featured for Wednesday in the Championship game against Leeds away from home at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
The midfielder, who is very popular among the Wednesday fans and is a key player in the team, did not start the match, but the 28-year-old came on as a substitute midway through the second half.
It was the former Aston Villa midfielder’s first appearance for Wednesday since December due to injury.
Jos Luhukay’s side are struggling in the Championship at the moment, but the Owls managed to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.
