Newcastle sent Achraf Lazaar out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday.
Achraf Lazaar has been a bit of an enigma ever since Newcastle United signed him in 2016.
Manager Rafa Benitez has not been won over, selecting him in only 10 games.
Lazaar had a loan spell in Italy with Benevento and is now at Sheffield Wednesday after joining the Owls on deadline day.
He featured for Wednesday’s under-23 side last night against rivals Sheffield United as he sought to increase his match fitness and sharpness.
He came close to scoring in the win, hitting the post with a long range strike.
Lazaar’s contribution was praised by Sheffield Star journalist Dom Howson.
Lazaar caught the eye enough to earn praise from supporters too.
Under Steve Bruce, Sheffield Wednesday have struggled in attack and fans feel that the full-back can be a positive influence on them.
His performance puts him closer to the Wednesday first team.
