It is no secret that Sheffield Wednesday are looking to trim their squad this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting on Twitter after the Daily Mirror claimed the Owls are facing a ‘huge summer fire sale’, as they ‘desperately battle to balance the books’.
The report – which echoed another in the Times – suggested that Wednesday could lose top earning players Fernando Forestieri, Barry Bannan and George Boyd.

However, it is no secret that the Owls are looking to trim their squad during the summer transfer window – after a disappointing campaign which was salvaged in part by the returns of Bannan and Forestieri from injury.
And some of the Hillsborough faithful are refusing to believe the pair will be among those sold – although others are not so sure…
Despite seeing four players depart at the end of the season, Sheffield Wednesday’s squad still contains 31 who made league appearances throughout the campaign.
Only one of those, Joey Pelupessy, was brought to Hillsborough by current Owls boss Jos Luhukay, who may be looking to put his own stamp on things this summer.
