Leeds United are interested in the Sheffield Wednesday midfielder, according to HITC sources.
Fitness problems restricted Abdi to 16 appearances in his first season at Wednesday, who paid Premier League Watford £3 million for him a year ago.

And with a new midfielder thought to be on the shortlist of Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal, it is not inconceivable that the Swiss international could make a swift exit from Hillsborough this summer.
It remains to be seen whether Wednesday would sell to Leeds, who emerged as rivals for promotion last season, or whether the Whites could even afford the player, who is likely to be among the Owls’ top earners.
But as far as [most of] those of a blue and white persuasion are concerned, Abdi’s sale will not, nor should not happen – with Leeds among the last clubs with whom they would look to do business.
