Abdi has made just 21 appearances in 18 months at Sheffield Wednesday.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Almen Abdi has suffered an injury setback, manager Jos Luhukay confirmed at his press conference on Thursday.
According to the Dutchman, it will be ‘two or three weeks’ before Abdi is back in training – a ‘muscle problem’ the issue this time.
The 31-year-old has only made five appearances for Wednesday this season, and none since the Owls’ defeat at Brentford on 30th December – his second outing in four months.

He played just 16 times throughout the whole of his first season at Hillsborough, and is struggling to justify the £3 million transfer fee paid to Watford in 2016.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Sheffield Wednesday fans are growing tired of Abdi’s lack of availability – the latest arriving at a time when the Owls are already without key midfield trio Kieran Lee, Sam Hutchinson and Barry Bannan.
Here’s what they’re saying about the Switzerland international on Twitter…
From Abdi’s point of view, his latest injury could have hardly come at a worse time, with Wednesday bringing in Heracles Almelo midfielder Joey Pelupessy on Thursday.
