The Owls stalwart has once again taken the reins at Hillsborough.

A number of Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to Twitter to praise Lee Bullen’s comments after the coach took the Owls reins following the departure of Steve Bruce.
The Championship club were left without a permanent manager after Bruce, who only took charge in February, left to take over at Newcastle United, and Bullen has once again stepped in to oversee preparations for the new season.
Bullen was in charge of the Owls for their resounding 4-0 win over Northampton Town on Tuesday evening and the pack will now be heading to Germany for a game against VfB Lubeck at the Stadion Lohmuhle on Friday night before facing Holstein Kiel at the Holstein Stadion on Sunday.
“The biggest thing for us has been how the players have adapted, they have been different class, second to none,” Bullen told the official Wednesday media team. “They have continued working on the fundamentals that have been put in place. They have continued that on.

“There has been no change, no upheaval, there’s been no issues and the players have bought into that and continued along that vein. The game against Northampton proved there is no negativity, it’s all positive. The players have been fantastic and dealt with it really well.”
Given the disappointment regarding what happened earlier in the week, it was a welcome relief for Wednesday’s fans to see a pair of trustworthy, safe hands take the reins following Bruce’s untimely departure and needless to say Bullen received a lot of praise online and calls to take the reins permanently.
Here are some of the Owls fans’ comments on the social media platform, with one suggesting he could even have the “Chris Wilder effect” on the Wednesday players:
