Nuhiu’s deal is the latest piece of good business overseen by the former Charlton Athletic CEO at Sheffield Wednesday.

Contracts being signed, transfer plans put into place and a retained list announced five days before the season was due to end, it is fair to say that fans of Sheffield Wednesday are witnessing unprecedented levels of pro-activity at their club.
According to several Owls followers on Twitter, they have one person to thank for that – and it is not someone they might have expected to just four months ago.

When Katrien Meire arrived at Hillsborough in early January, she found a club in chaos. Wednesday were managerless, missing a starting XI of key players and had just been beaten 3-0 at home by Burton Albion.
To make matters worse, her reputation was – to put it mildly – not the best. She had just spent four years working as a mouthpiece for Roland Duchatelet, the controversial owner of Charlton Athletic, a club whose supporters she famously described as ‘customers’ and at which she had acquired nicknames such as the ‘Wicked Witch of Belgium’.
But based on what some Wednesdayites are saying about the 33-year-old lawyer-by-trade, after another of their players, Atdhe Nuhiu committed his future to the Owls on Thursday, Charlton fans could be forgiven for thinking it is a different person entirely…
