The Owls ace scored a sensational long-range goal in the Championship draw at Norwich City.

Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri has been declared the Championship Goal of the Month winner for April, receiving 72 percent of the public vote for his sensational strike against Norwich City.
In the 2-2 draw at Carrow Road on 19 April, the Owls ace received a short pass from Marco Mattias around 35 yards from goal and looked to make progress towards the Canaries area, but his path was blocked.
With a Norwich defender blocking Forestieri’s progress, he decided to turn backwards to try and carve out some space, then eventually, having edged clear of his marker, he let rip with a ferocious yet simply exquisite shot which burst into the top-left corner of the net.
The announcement was made on Friday morning and Forestieri, who saw off competition from Bristol City’s Josh Dasilva and Wigan Athletic’s Reece James, took to Twitter later in the afternoon to personally thank those who voted for him:
A number of Wednesday fans responded to him with congratulations and praise:
Forestieri has done well at Wednesday since his £3.7million move from Watford in the summer of 2015, making 115 appearances for the Hillsborough side and weighing in with 38 goals and 16 assists, according to Transfermarkt.
