Sheffield Wednesday have already been credited with interest in the West Ham United star.

Sheffield Wednesday fans are discussing the prospect of signing Robert Snodgrass, after odds tumbled on the West Ham United winger’s transfer to Hillsborough.

Wednesday were credited with interest in Snodgrass by The Mirror last month, although it was also claimed that the January West Ham recruit was reluctant to drop to the second tier.

But with the Owls now clear favourites to land Snodgrass with the bookmakers [Skybet, 2/1; Bet Victor, 1/2], many are convinced that a move could be on the cards.

Wednesday have already added one new winger this week, with George Boyd arriving on a free transfer from Burnley.

Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal claimed afterwards that Boyd was his ‘number one target’ in his position, although it is unlikely that the Portuguese would turn down a player Snodgrass’s quality, should an opportunity present itself.

The 29-year-old has only started eight times in the league for West Ham and could well be available, although the £10 million fee paid for him [Transfermarkt], combined with his £40,000-a-week wages [Daily Star], could make a deal difficult for non Premier League sides.

Snodgrass, a teammate of Boyd at international level and, briefly, at Hull City, also played for Norwich City in England’s top flight and was promoted with the Tigers at Wednesday’s expense a year ago.
