The Sheffield Wednesday striker has spent the past campaign on loan at Derby County, who look set to lose Rowett to Stoke City.

Gary Rowett’s proposed move from Derby County to Stoke City could have a bearing on Sam Winnall’s future, according to a number of Sheffield Wednesday supporters on Twitter.
Winnall spent the past campaign on loan to Rowett’s Derby from Wednesday, having previously worked with the 44-year-old at Burton Albion.

And despite suffering a serious knee injury in February, Winnall was tipped to complete a permanent move to Derby this summer, with the player having repeatedly expressed a desire to remain at Pride Park.
However, some Sheffield Wednesday fans believe the 27-year-old could now be bound for Stoke instead…
And several Derby supporters agree that Winnall may not return next season…
Winnall, who only moved to Sheffield Wednesday from Barnsley 16 months ago, scored six goals in 17 games foe Derby before injury struck.
The Rams are expected to rein in their spending after losing out in the Championship play-offs, which is one of the reasons behind Rowett’s alleged attraction to Stoke.
Could the Sheffield Wednesday striker now end up at Stoke City?
