The Tottenham Hotspur youngster was making his third appearance for Sheffield Wednesday.

The absence of Barry Bannan allowed Tottenham Hotspur’s Josh Onomah to make only the second start of his Sheffield Wednesday loan spell, against West Bromwich Albion. And the England Under-21 international failed to disappoint.
It was from his assist that Adam Reach opened the scoring – although in fairness it was Reach’s laser-guided left foot that did most of the work – while Wednesday’s second goal – dispatched by Fernando Forestieri – was sparked by an Onomah-led counter-attack.
Defensively, too, the Tottenham academy product impressed, working tirelessly alongside Joey Pelupessy – the pair winning countless tackles and interceptions between them. And at the time of Onomah’s departure in the 82nd minute, any result other than a Sheffield Wednesday win seemed very unlikely.
Two quickfire goals later, however, and Wednesdayites were left ruing the 21-year-old’s withdrawal – after he appeared to pick up a knock.
Onomah, who has played 32 times for Tottenham, is due to spend the rest of the campaign at Sheffield Wednesday.
