Butterfield swapped Derby County for Sheffield Wednesday in a loan deal last month.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been assessing Jacob Butterfield’s first starting performance since signing on loan from Derby County.
Butterfield had appeared only as a substitute prior to Wednesday night’s trip to Birmingham City, with Carlos Carvalhal admitting this week the midfielder was still getting to grips with the intensity of his side’s play.
But the Owls head coach must have been satisfied, as he awarded Butterfield his first full outing at St Andrew’s.

Things did not quite go to plan, however, with Wednesday succumbing to Isaac Vassell’s late strike, despite having looked the more threatening beforehand. And Owls fans on Twitter are split over how the new boy fared.

Back-to-back defeats have seen Wednesday fall to 14th in the Championship, with third-place Leeds United their next opponents on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sam Winnall appeared to impress on his first start for Derby this week, having traded places with Butterfield until the end of this season.
