The Sheffield Wednesday chairman returned to England at the start of this week.

The Sheffield Wednesday captain, Tom Lees, has insisted that Jos Luhukay’s future was not brought up in Monday’s meeting between the Owls’ players and Dejphon Chansiri.
The Wednesday chairman, Chansiri, has this week given his backing to Luhukay despite the Owls manager having overseen a run of one win and seven defeats from 10 Championship matches.
Support for Luhukay from within the Hillsborough fanbase is, however, at an all-time low, and the Dutchman was not present at Friday’s press-conference, with responsibility handed instead to the first-team coach, Lee Bullen.
But asked what was discussed with Chansiri, Lees told BBC Radio Sheffield: “The chairman comes down quite often, to be honest. And he just wanted to know if there’s anything that he can do to help what’s happening really, and just wanted to know our thoughts – wanted to know if there’s any problems or things like that. He just asked those questions really, and I think the players were pretty honest with him.

“It’s difficult because everybody cares and it’s hurting everybody so you’ve got that from the chairman but you’ve also got it from the players as well, that they’re hurting and they’re frustrated, so obviously there’s going to be a lot of emotions and stuff flying around.
“I think the players were pretty honest and I think it’s quite good that they can speak to the chairman like that, fairly openly. He just wanted, obviously, to hear it from the players themselves.
“(Luhukay’s future) wasn’t brought up. It was more that he was just asking if there’s any problems, kind of if anything had changed from before, and just explained what he wanted from us.

“Obviously, I’m not really going to say the ins and outs of the meetings, but I think it was him showing that he cares, and I think kind of wanting to hear from us that we cared as well.”
Speaking at a fans’ forum this week, Chansiri insisted that it was Luhukay’s decision to exclude a number of Sheffield Wednesday’s senior players this season, including the popular duo of Keiren Westwood and Sam Hutchinson.
The Thai businessman later claimed he was putting the Owls up for sale and stated his belief that “many people” would be interested in buying.
