His side have lost momentum from the past two seasons, and have suffered consecutive defeats to Sheffield United and Birmingham City.
Losing a third to Leeds United will leave a terrible atmosphere around the club heading into the international break.
However, it can still be turned around, as Monk’s Leeds side showed last year.
They went for the jugular, starting with two up front, and it paid off. Wednesday must continue to do the same and put Leeds under pressure from the start.
A win over Leeds, however it comes, could turn the Owls’ fortunes around.
