Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has been singing the praises of talented young forward George Hirst this week.
The talented teenage striker has been catching the eye with his performances for Sheffield Wednesday’s development squad recently and it is clear that the Portuguese is a fan of his ability.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star this week Carvalhal had this to say about the club’s marquee talent:
“George is a player that we are working with but he needs time like other players.
“He is someone who will be knocking on the door in maybe one or two years.”

The player has been tipped to thrive at the club, especially because of who his old man is.
George is the son of David Hirst. The Yorkshireman was with Wednesday from 1986 until 1997. He scored over 100 goals in his Sheffield Wednesday career in nearly 300 appearances for the club so George certainly has big boots to fill.
But the English youth international, who saw himself linked with several other clubs in the summer, is clearly going the right way about catching the eye of his manager at Hillsborough.
He made his debut for the Owls first-team in the EFL Cup back in August and will no doubt be hoping to feature for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship before the end of the season.
