According to Sky Sports, Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Isaac Hayden and Jeff Hendrick from Newcastle United.
The report has claimed that Newcastle have made both Hayden and Hendrick available for transfers this week.
Wednesday and Newcastle are now in talks over a loan deal for the two players.
Sky Sports have added that Hayden’s loan move to Luton Town fell through earlier this week.
We believe that both Isaac Hayden and Jeff Hendrick should seriously consider leaving Newcastle United for Sheffield Wednesday this week.
There does not appear to be any future for Hayden or Hendrick at Newcastle.
Hayden, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, was on loan at Norwich City from Newcastle last season.
The 28-year-old is under contract at Newcastle until the summer of 2026.
Hendrick has been out on loan at Queens Park Rangers and Reading in recent seasons.
The 31-year-old midfielder is under contract at Newcastle, who will play in the UEFA Champions League this season, until the summer of 2024.
Perhaps Newcastle should try to get a transfer fee for Hendrick now and sell him to Wednesday permanently instead of sending him out on loan for this season.
Wednesday are a big club who are playing in the Championship this season.
Both Hayden and Hendrick would be able to help the Owls in the second tier of English football this season.
