Sheffield Wednesday are flying high in the league following the Owls appointing Garry Monk at Hillsborough last month.

Sheffield Wednesday ace Adam Reach has spoken highly of new manager Garry Monk, insisting “everyone can say they’ve improved in some area” following the 40-year-old’s arrival at Hillsborough (official SWFC website).
Monk was appointed to the Owls hotseat on 6 September, replacing Steve Bruce who resigned a few months prior, and has overseen four wins, three draws and two defeats from his first nine games in charge (Transfermarkt).
His impressive early results saw him nominated for the Championship Manager of the Month award in September, Wednesday having gone into the second international break of the season eighth in the table, one point shy of the playoffs and three off the top two at the time, West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest.
Following their draw with Leeds at the weekend, the Owls are currently fifth in the standings with 24 points from 14 league games played, putting them just three points adrift of current leaders West Brom, while the following three teams are all on 25 points – testament to the good work Monk has done so far at Hillsborough.

“We’ve stuck in there, we’ve got ourselves in a good position, the manager has come in and he is someone who is improving every player,” Reach told the Wednesday website.
“Everyone can say they’ve improved in some area under him. We need to keep that going, there is plenty more work to do and plenty of positives so far but there are areas that we can improve and we are always striving to get better.”
Up next for the Owls is Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.
