Former England international cricketer Michael Vaughan has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Sheffield Wednesday’s win against Cardiff City on Friday evening.
Wednesday’s maintained their good run of form in the Championship with a narrow 1-0 victory over Cardiff City at home.
Fernando Forestieri’s goal in the 84th minute of the match proved to be the difference between the two sides at the Hillsborough Stadium.
Vaughan, who is a well-known Wednesday fan, has taken to Twitter to revel in the win, and has also suggested that he is backing Newcastle United to win this evening.
Newcastle will take on Leeds United at St. James’ Park in the Championship later this evening.
The Magpies are currently second in the table with 84 points from 41 matches, while Leeds are fifth in the standings with 72 points from 41 games.
Wednesday are sixth with 72 points from 42 matches, two points ahead of seventh-placed Fulham.
A win for Newcastle will keep it tight for the fifth and sixth positions in the table, and will certainly enhance Wednesday’s chances of featuring in the playoffs.
