After a disappointing end to their 2015/16 League One campaign, the Blades are back in form under new boss Chris Wilder.
After 7 losses over January, February and March, along with only 5 wins, pressure was mounting on Sheffield United boss, Nigel Adkins, with the end of the season fast approaching.

Losing their final home game of the season to Scunthorpe United, the 15/16 season had been a miserable one for Blades fans, after both the club, and a number of their more high profile players, failed to achieve anything.

The highlight of their sorry season however, had been their FA Cup clash with Manchester United. The Blades fought hard in that game, and made Manchester United work for their narrow 1-0 win; a performance which filled Blades fans with pride.

With the disappointment of their league performance in mind, Sheffield United made the difficult decision to change their manager over the summer, saying goodbye to Nigel Adkins.

Replacing him, was the former Northampton Town manager, Chris Wilder, who he had recently led to a League Two title.

After losing important players, such as striker Che Adams to Birmingham City, many Sheffield United fans feared that the 16/17 season could well be as difficult as the last.

However, under Chris Wilder, the Blades appear to have hit that form they’ve been waiting to see for years, and now sit at the top of the league. With seemingly the right man finally at the helm, could 2017 finally be the year that Sheffield United return to the Championship?
