Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Leeds United clinching automatic promotion to the Premier League.

McBurnie has stated that he is looking forward to playing against Leeds in the top flight of English football next season.

The former Swansea City striker has also sent a message to Leeds star Luke Ayling.

The 24-year-old, who joined Yorkshire club United in the summer of 2019, was actually at the Whites as a youngster.

Meanwhile, Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy has rejoined in his former Marseille manager Marcelo Bielsa guiding Leeds to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old – who cost City £52 million in transfer fee in the summer of 2017, as reported by BBC Sport – worked with the Argentine at Marseille.

Big season for Leeds United

Leeds have not been in the Premier League since 2004, and next season will be very special indeed for the Whites.

The Elland Road faithful will be in loud voice – if fans are allowed inside stadiums – and perhaps the team will surprise a few sides.

It will be interesting to see how Leeds approach next season and what their expectations will be.
