Billy Sharp has told Sky Sports Super 6 that Leeds United are in a better place now.

Sharp was on the books of Leeds from the summer of 2014 until the summer of 2015.

Massimo Cellino, now the owner of Italian club Brescia, owned Leeds at the time.

Sharp, who is now at Sheffield United, has said that Cellino was not good for the Whites, and he is pleased to see the club do well under current owner Andrea Radrizzani.

Sharp told Sky Sports Super 6: “When I went to Leeds, I thought, right, this is brilliant, amazing club, back up north. I had four managers in a season.

“Again, I had some brilliant times, but the club were in a bit of turmoil at the time. Cellino was wrecking the place. Obviously I am happy to see them doing well now, and the club’s in good hands now.”

Leeds United are flying

Leeds are having a wonderful season in the Premier League and could end up in mid-table.

Under head coach Marcelo Bielsa, the Whites have done brilliantly over the past two-and-a-half seasons.

The West Yorkshire club play good and attractive football, and the fans must be delighted with how things are going.

This is the first time that Leeds are playing in the Premier League since 2004.

Perhaps in the coming years, the Whites will start to challenge for the European places and will establish themselves in the top six.

The Whites are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 21 matches and are unlikely to be relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
