Liam Moore of Reading tackles Kieran Dowell of Nottingham Forest during the Sky Bet Championship match.
Brendan Rodgers has made improving Celtic’s central defence his top priority when the transfer window reopens in January and the Daily Record reports Reading’s Liam Moore is top of his wishlist.
It is thought Moore would cost around £5m, but here are three other centre-backs currently playing in the Championship that Rodgers should perhaps consider as an alternative.

Aden Flint
The subject of a bid from Birmingham City over the summer, as reported by the BBC, this Bristol City star has impressed since reasserting himself back in the Lee Johnson’s starting XI.
Flint has played a key part in the Robins’ impressive start to the season, not only being a rock at the back but also scoring four league goals.
Sean Morrison of Cardiff City celebrates victory during the Sky Bet Championship match against Ipswich Town.
Sean Morrison
No side has a better defensive record in the second tier of English football than Cardiff City, with 13 conceded in 16 outings, and Morrison has been vital in that.
Amid rumours of his departure from the Welsh capital the 26 year old was handed a new contract over the summer and has repaid that faith with some impressive performances for the Bluebirds.
Jack O’Connell
One of the big surprises of the 2017/18 campaign has been how well newly promoted Sheffield United have done, who currently sit second in the table.
Only Cardiff and Middlesbrough have let in fewer than the Blades and O’Connell, who was signed from Brentford in 2016, has made the step up from League One effortlessly and has played every league game to date.
