Sheffield United fans urge Dean Henderson to join club permanently from Manchester United

The Red Devils goalkeeper is proving a sensation on loan at Bramall Lane and some Blades fans are desperate for him to pen permanent terms.

Sheffield United will enter 2019 sitting fourth in the Championship table after they wrapped up this year’s fixture programme with a resounding 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Club captain Billy Sharp opened the scoring for the Blades at Bramall Lane on Saturday after hooking an effort home on 73 minutes.

Just four minutes later, the veteran striker fired past David Raya to double the hosts’ lead, also becoming the joint all-time top scorer in English leagues since 2000 alongside Rickie Lambert in the process.

David McGoldrick then connected with John Fleck’s cross and bundled into the back of the Blackburn net via his chest to make sure of all three points in South Yorkshire, while Dean Henderson put in a sturdy performance in the Blades goal to secure a clean sheet.

The 21-year-old, on loan at Bramall Lane from Manchester United, has shipped just 28 goals in 25 Championship appearances this term, as well as notching up seven clean sheets, according to Transfermarkt.

Henderson is yet to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils and, with his contract at Old Trafford up in 2020 (Transfermarkt), it wouldn’t really be a surprise if he ended up considering a permanent departure in search of first team football.
