Jansson had labelled Leeds United’s encounter with Sheffield United as “the biggest game of our lives”.

Sheffield United fans are reacting to Pontus Jansson’s performance against their side on Saturday. Jansson was part of the Leeds United side which suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Blades at Elland Road.
And the Sweden defender was heavily involved – drawing a yellow card for George Baldock, suffering a clash of heads with Billy Sharp and hobbling through the game’s final stages, which he ended in goal.
But what did those of a Sheffield United persuasion make of the Leeds fans favourite? Nothing much positive…
Leeds created a number of early chances and hit the post shortly after half-time, but failed to register a single shot on target.
And Sheffield United took full advantage, making their only one count after a breakaway from which Chris Basham slid home Sharp’s pass midway through the second half.

The result saw the Blades leapfrog their Yorkshire rivals into second place with eight games left to play.
