Sheffield Wednesday travel to Sheffield United for the season’s first Steel City derby on Friday 9th November.

Fans arrive at the stadium prior to The Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round match between Sheffield United and Preston North End at Bramall Lane on January 27, 2018 in Sheffield, England.

Sheffield United fans are reacting to news of a pre-derby blow for neighbours Sheffield Wednesday.

The Sheffield Wednesday manager, Jos Luhukay, revealed on Thursday that Fernando Forestieri – the player widely regarded as the Owls’ most dangerous – is set to miss the next few weeks with a hamstring problem.

And with the two clubs due to meet at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane home three weeks tomorrow, Forestieri is seemingly at risk of missing his third successive Steel City derby.

This is what those of a Blades persuasion are saying on Twitter about the Argentine’s situation…

Forestieri has scored three goals from five starts for Sheffield Wednesday this season, although the Owls are yet to win a game the 28-year-old has begun.

Their other seven fixtures have yielded five victories and one draw, leaving Jos Luhukay’s side five places and six points behind Sheffield United, the early Championship leaders.
