Sheffield United are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan.

Sheffield United supporters on Twitter would more than welcome the signing of striker Scott Hogan amid reports that they are interested in his services.

Sky Sports are reporting that the 26-year-old is free to leave Aston Villa before the January transfer window shuts, with Championship duo Sheffield United and Bristol City leading the race for his signature.

Steve Bruce, who is now manager of Sheffield Wednesday, signed Hogan from Brentford during the 2017 January transfer window, but his style of play didn’t suit the Salford-born player.

As a result, he struggled to cement his place in Villa’s starting XI and a potential move to Bramall Lane could see him revive his stuttering career.

One United supporter on Twitter stated that signing Hogan, and other targets, would prove to be a ‘hell of a window’ for the promotion-chasers.

Another fan felt that Wilder’s team lack pace up front and that is something Hogan can provide them if they manage to put pen-to-paper on a deal.

Here is a selection of Sheffield United supporters on Twitter offering their thoughts on the Hogan rumours:

Chris Wilder’s side are chasing promotion to the Premier League as they are currently sitting three points outside of the automatic places.

A positive end to the second half of the campaign would see them, at the very least, finish in the playoff places, but they will be looking at the league’s current top two, Leeds United and Norwich City.
