The former Sheffield Wednesday striker has struggled since signing his new Sheffield United contract.

Leon Clarke of Sheffield United looks on after the Sky Bet Championship match between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday at Bramall Lane on January 12, 2018 in Sheffield, England.

Sheffield United supporters are so unimpressed by Leon Clarke’s latest offering that some of them want him swapped for a Sheffield Wednesday striker.

Clarke has scored an impressive 15 goals from 31 games this season – his best ever at Championship level.

However, only one of those has arrived in the experienced front man’s last 11 outings – or to put it another way, since he signed a two-year contract extension at Bramall Lane.

After sitting out the past three matches with injury, Clarke returned to Sheffield United’s starting 11 for Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest and missed arguably the game’s best chance from two yards out.

And Blades fans, it seems, have run out of patience with the former Sheffield Wednesday striker. Here’s what they’re saying about him on Twitter…

Sheffield Wednesday pair Atdhe Nuhiu and Jordan Rhodes have scored fewer goals [13] combined than Clarke has for Sheffield United this campaign.

Is Clarke’s loss of form a temporary thing?
