Twice after Sheffield United moved into second place they dropped points the following game and were overtaken by Leeds.

The Blades won convincingly away to Hull City, netting three first half goals in a 3-0 victory.
Leeds, already behind on goal difference heading into the day, then lose away at Brentford, to fall three points behind their competitors.
There are now only two Championship games remaining of the regular season and Sheffield United are in a commanding position to win automatic promotion.
Leeds lost two games over Easter, imploding when promotion was finally within their grasp.

It now looks like the Whites will have to go through the play-offs.
Sheffield United could still finish up as champions if Norwich slip up further.
