While Lee Evans quite rightly took the plaudits, there is another Sheffield United player drawing praise from Blades fans on Twitter after Tuesday’s 2-1 win against Middlesbrough.

George Baldock – who was the fixture’s fifth highest-rated player overall according to Whoscored – made the most tackles (five) and the third-most successful dribbles (two) of any player at Bramall Lane, where United overcame one of their rivals for the play-offs.

It was the latest strong showing for the right-wing back, who was initially signed from Milton Keynes Dons as competition for Kieron Freeman.

And that last tweeter is not the only one to have had such thoughts of late…

Sam Baldock has only played five times for Brighton this season, having seen his opportunities limited by the January signings of Leo Ulloa and Jurgen Locadia.

The 29-year-old still has two years to run on his Brighton contract, although the Seagulls are unlikely to stand in his way if offers arrive this summer.

And a reunion with younger brother George at Sheffield United could appeal to the player, who has scored or made 51 goals in 136 Championship games for Brighton, Bristol City and West Ham United.
