Could Everton defender Mason Holgate be heading to newly-promoted Sheffield United this summer?

Sheffield United supporters on Twitter have provided a mixed reaction to reports linking them with Everton defender Mason Holgate this summer.
According to a report from the Mail on Sunday (4/8; page 111), newly-promoted Sheffield United have joined West Brom in the race to take the versatile defender on-loan for the forthcoming campaign.
Holgate spent the second of the last campaign on loan at West Brom, who were beaten in the Championship play-off semi-finals by Aston Villa.
He was deployed at right-back during his time at the Hawthorns, but he can also play at centre-back if need be as Sheffield United look to bulk up their squad before Thursday’s deadline.
It is fair to say that some Blades fans are keen on Holgate joining them, whilst others would prefer the club to look at other options because they don’t rate him as a player.

Chris Wilder plays three at the back, so Holgate does have the capabilities of playing on the right side of their back three or even playing as a right wing-back.
Holgate has been involved in Everton’s pre-season plans, but since Marco Silva has been at Goodison Park, he has hardly featured.
Here is a selection of Sheffield United fans on Twitter reacting to those Holgate rumours:
