Sheffield United are understood to be interested in Nugent, the striker Derby County paid around £2.5 million to sign 18 months ago.

Sheffield United fans are reacting on Twitter to reports linking one of Chris Wilder’s striker targets with a move to Derby County.
Wilder admitted on Tuesday that United have been priced out of a move for Martyn Waghorn, for whom Ipswich Town are said to want £8-10 million [Sky Sports].
Around that same time, speculation emerged that Derby had entered negotiations over the striker’s transfer [Daily Mail], although the Rams have since agreed a fee to sign Peterborough’s Jack Marriott.
The arrival of either player would take Derby’s tally of senior centre-forwards to six, and almost certainly edge David Nugent, for whom HITC Sport understands the Blades have enquired, closer to the Pride Park exit door.

That is however an outcome that some of the Bramall Lane faithful would rather avoid…
@SamGodley: “More If derby get Waghorn and we end up with Nugent it will be ******* terrible business”.
Will Waghorn end up at Derby County, or do Sheffield United still have a chance of signing the Ipswich Town striker?
