Sheffield United have pipped Leeds United to automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Sheffield United fans on Twitter have mocked rivals Leeds United after they recorded a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

That result confirmed that Chris Wilder’s side have now earned promotion to the Premier League via the automatic places after the Blades beat already-relegated Ipswich 2-0 the day before.

The Sheffield United supporters were quick to point out that they are the best team in Yorkshire and that their manager is better than Marcelo Bielsa in a number of stern messages for their rivals.

Leeds picked up a point against in-form Villa in a controversial and very heated game that had talking points througout, especially in the second half.

But Sheff Utd supporters were only interested in one thing and that was celebrating their promotion to the promised land in what is only their second season in the second tier after promotion during the 2017/18 campaign from League One.

One more team will now join current leaders Norwich City and Sheffield United in England’s top-flight next season with three of the four playoff places already confirmed.

Villa will play Midland rivals West Brom, whilst Leeds will play either Frank Lampard’s Derby County or Tony Pulis’ defensively strong Boro.
