Sheffield United fans on Twitter admitted that the pressure is back on after Leeds United beat Preston North End 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who were beaten at Birmingham City over the weekend, moved back into second place with Patrick Bamford netting a brace.

Before Leeds could take the lead, Preston midfielder Ben Pearson was shown a straight red minutes after the break and Leeds punished Alex Neil’s 10 men.

Striker Bamford opened the scoring just after the hour mark with a thunderous strike from outside of the area before he made sure of the points 14 minutes from time.

The Blades can leapfrog their Yorkshire rivals on Wednesday night if they can beat the Blues at St Andrew’s, with Garry Monk looking for back-to-back wins against another promotion-chasing side.

One point won’t be enough for Chris Wilder’s side, who will more than likely take the race for the automatics to the last day of the season.

Here is a selection of Sheffield United fans reacting to Leeds moving into second place:

In unusual circumstances, Sheffield United could be supporting their bitter rivals Wednesday at the weekend because Steve Bruce’s side travel to Elland Road.

Whilst Wilder’s side will be concentrating on themselves, a favour from their near neighbours would do them the world of good in their promotion bid.
