Reed is due back at Sheffield United this summer.

Louis Reed of Chesterfield(2R) celebrates his sides first goal during the Sky Bet League Two match between Yeovil Town and Chesterfield at Huish Park on January 20, 2018 in Yeovil, England.

Louis Reed’s performance for Chesterfield on Sunday caught the eye of several Sheffield United supporters, as well as ex-Blade Kevin Gage.

Reed, who is on loan from United, helped Chesterfield to a much-needed 3-1 win against promotion-chasing Notts County at the Proact Stadium.

And Gage, a former midfielder himself, was one of the many impressed by the 20-year-old’s showing, as shown by the following tweets…

And this is what Sheffield United fans had to say…

Reed became Sheffield United’s youngest ever league player – aged 16 and 257 – four years ago and played regularly throughout the next two campaigns.

His fortunes changed under current boss Chris Wilder, however, culminating in last summer’s switch to the Proact Stadium.

United have since added Lee Evans and Ryan Leonard to their options in Reed’s position, while the expected return of Paul Coutts later this year could affect his chances back at Bramall Lane.

Should Sheffield United give Reed another chance next season?
