Tottenham Hotspur will come up against Sheffield United in the Premier League next season.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is his favourite manager in the Premier League.
The Blades recently earned promotion to England’s top-flight, along with Norwich and the duo will now come up against Spurs next season.
Sheffield United have been lauded for their audacious style of play in the Championship in recent seasons and there is no doubt that it will thrill those in the Premier League when they make the jump up.
Nonetheless, Speaking to Football Focus on BBC One (11/05/2019 at 12:20 pm) Wilder also admitted to nicking ‘a few sessions’ from Pochettino because one of their staff used to work for the North London club.
“I have got to say he’s my favourite manager in the Premier League,” Wilder told Football Focus. “Just the way he brings everybody in. I think that’s huge. The players who play week in, week out, they are they the easy ones to manage. It’s the boys on the outside that you have to invest time in and do step up as Moura has done.
“The work ethic of his team. The way they play. His recruitment and everything. We have nicked a few sessions out of there. We had our sports scientist, who is our first-team coach now, he used to work at Tottenham. We managed to get an insight into a few of his sessions.”
It seems as though taking some insight into some of Pochettino’s sessions have helped Sheffield United because they are now a Premier League club.
They finished in the runners-up spot and secured one of the two automatic places – Daniel Farke’s Norwich City were crowned champions of the Championship.
Regardless of what happens to both teams next term, they will bring an exciting brand of attacking football to the Premier League.
