Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has confirmed that the club have failed in an approach for Millwall defender Byron Webster.
It was reported The Star earlier this week that the Blades had made a move for the player and that the Millwall centre-back was reportedly interested in the transfer.
Webster, 29, is from York and a move back north reportedly appealed to the defender.

But today the Blades boss Wilder has made it clear that this deal is a no-go.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield he confirmed that an approach was made for Webster, but he was informed that he was not for sale at any price:
“We made an enquiry. I had a phone call with (Millwall manager) Neil (Harris) and the club had a phone call at senior level.
“He wasn’t available at any price.
“So we move on from that.”

Millwall would have been brave to sell their centre-back to a potential promotion rival, although at the moment Wilder’s men are looking in the other direction.
Sheffield United are currently bottom of League One with just one point from their opening four games of the season and are desperately looking to strengthen their side before the transfer window shuts next week.
But Webster will not be heading to Bramall Lane this summer.
