HITC Sport understands Sheffield United have bid for the League One striker.
Devante Cole of Fleetwood Town takes on Nat Knight-Percival (22) and Nicky Law of Bradford City
Sheffield United are trying to sign Fleetwood Town striker Devante Cole before Thursday’s transfer deadline, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler confirmed earlier this week that the club had receieved a bid from an unnamed Championship club for Cole and HITC Sport understands Sheffield United are Cole’s suitors.
Cole has enjoyed a fine start to the season for Fleetwood with four goals in five games and his form has brought him to the attention of Sheffield United.
Sheffield United are looking to bolster their attacking options after losing Caolan Lavery to injury for a couple of months having suffered multiple fractures to his eye socket and cheekbone in a clash of heads with Derby’s Marcus Olssen.

Fleetwood are reluctant to lose Cole and will only let the player move on if they have a replacement lined up for the striker.
Cole joined Fleetwood from Bradford City in January last year and the forward has a year left on his contract at Highbury.
Cole came through the ranks at City since joining the club at the age of seven, but did not make a first-team appearance for the club.
Cole, son of former England international Andrew, has scored 14 goals in 65 appearances for Fleetwood and Sheffield United want to offer him the chance to move to the Championship.
