In truth, Carter-Vickers had little work to do against an Owls side whose attacking threat was largely nullified by those in front of the American teenager.

Carter-Vickers signed a new three-year deal at Tottenham upon leaving for Sheffield United, but currently has Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth ahead of him at Wembley.
