The Bournemouth midfielder had been linked with Sheffield United, Stoke City and Fulham.
The Sheffield United and Stoke City-linked midfielder Harry Arter is set to join Fulham from Bournemouth, according to the Sun.
The newspaper reports (on the 48th page of its 5 August edition) that Arter has already completed a medical ahead of a season-long loan deal, which will become permanent if Fulham are promoted back to the Premier League.
The Sun had previously credited Sheffield United, Stoke and the Cottagers with an interest in the Republic of Ireland international, whom it claimed Bournemouth would sell for £8 million.
But there is no suggestion that either the Blades or the Potters made any formal attempt to sign him.
Arter is the brother-in-law of Scott Parker, the current Fulham manager. And the pair’s relationship may have been a factor, if there were indeed offers on the table from Sheffield United or Stoke.
Both Fulham and Stoke suffered defeat in their opening Championship fixtures, while Sheffield United’s Premier League campaign does not kick off until Saturday, ironically with a trip to Bournemouth.
Bournemouth recently signed Philip Billing, the former Huddersfield Town midfielder, for £15m, but recently lost another player, Dan Gosling, to injury in his and Arter’s position, casting doubt on the latter player’s availability.
