The Owls striker was largely lacklustre at the New York Stadium and did not appear to celebrate the late winner for the Hillsborough side.

A number of Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jordan Rhodes’ performance and reaction to Atdhe Nuhiu’s late winner in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup second-round victory at Rotherham United.
The two South Yorkshire sides locked horns at the New York Stadium but the game was far from a classic, with neither side really getting into the higher gears for most of the encounter, and it looked to be heading for a stalemate and a penalty shootout.
However, a late corner was not dealt with by the Millers and the ball was crossed back into danger, where Atdhe Nuhiu reacted quickest to rifle the ball high into the net to put the Owls in the next round at the expense of their neighbouring town’s team.
Rhodes had already put in a very lacklustre display for Lee Bullen’s side but, as well as that, while the other players in and around the Rotherham box celebrated the late winner emphatically, Rhodes appeared somewhat more nonchalant when the ball went in.
This did not go down particularly well with the Hillsborough faithful, some of whom took to social media to slate the £10.5million signing from Middlesbrough (Transfermarkt):
One fan did offer an alternative explanation, however:
Up next for Wednesday is Saturday’s Championship meeting with Queens Park Rangers at Hillsborough, while their Carabao Cup third-round tie at home against Everton takes place late next month.
