The ex-Blades ace’s winner against the Whites, combined with Sheff Utd’s win at Preston, saw Chris Wilder’s side up to second in the Championship.

Sheffield United have leapfrogged Leeds United into second place in the Championship table after running out 1-0 winners over Preston North End in Saturday’s match at Deepdale.
The Blades’ winner came on 34 minutes when Oliver Norwood’s deep corner was headed goalwards by John Egan and goalkeeper Declan Rudd’s save onto the bar was then poked home by David McGoldrick.
Both sides weighed in with chances as Callum Robinson, Jayden Stockley, Sean Maguire, Paul Gallagher and Alan Browne all threatened for the Lilywhites, while Billy Sharp and Enda Stevens came close to increasing United’s lead.
Meanwhile, Leeds suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Birmingham City as former Bramall Lane fan favourite Che Adams grabbed the winner for the Blues against Marcelo Bielsa’s side, and as such, the musical chairs at the top of the table continued with just six games to go.
