Where are they now? The Sheffield United XI relegated from Premier League in 2007

The Blades have not returned to the Premier League since.

Back in 2007 Sheffield United were controversially relegated from the Premier League, with a Carlos Tevez inspired West Ham surviving.

The Blades have not been back since and are currently in League One.

With the 10 year anniversary of that relegation coming up in the summer where are those players now?

Paddy Kenny

The veteran goalkeeper is still playing, sharing his duties with goalkeeper coaching at Northampton Town.

Phil Jagielka

The future England international went on to join Premier League side Everton, where he remains to this day.

Chris Morgan

Left the Blades in a playing capacity in 2012 after knee injuries. Remained on the coaching staff until December 2015.

Now the first-team coach at Chesterfield.

Matthew Kilgallon

The 32-year-old defender is now playing his football for Sheffield United’s League One rivals Bradford City.

Derek Geary

The attacking full-back retired in 2010 after a serious knee injury.

He was appointed Lead Coach of the Sheffield United under-18s in the summer.

Keith Gillespie

The veteran became famous for his bankruptcy and frank admittance of a gambling addiction.

Now a regular dinner speaker and released an auto-biography.

Nick Montgomery

Relocated to Australia in 2012 and remains with Central Coast Mariners of the A-League.

Michael Tonge

He left Sheffield United after relegation, joining Stoke City. A spell at Leeds followed but he is currently at League Two side Stevenage.

Stephen Quinn

The Ireland international is currently on the books at high-flying Championship side Reading.

Christian Nade

The Frenchman had a journeyman career for a while, playing in Cyprus and Thailand before forging a career for himself in Scotland.

The former French under-21 international was most recently at Stranraer but was released last month and has since been on trial at Annan Athletic.

Jon Stead

The 33-year-old is now at Notts County in League Two.

Claude Davis

The Jamaican went on to play for the likes of Derby, Crystal Palace and Rotherham United. Now working as Director of Coaching at the ACYS academy in Florida.

Colin Kazim-Richards

The journeyman’s journeyman. Headed to Fenerbahce after relegation and has played in France, Greece, Holland and Scotland since.

Currently playing for Coritiba in Brazil.

Danny Webber

The striker was most recently playing his football for Salford City, famously owned by thje Class of ’92 recruits at Manchester United.

Retired in the summer and now works for a football agency company.

Ian Bennett

The veteran goalie is now the Academy Goalkeeper coach at Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Mikele Leigertwood

The Antiguan and went on to become a Reading hero and returned to the Berkshire club in the summer as the Academy’s Loan Manager.
